Dieser Film ist großartig; die verschiedenen Charaktere spiegeln die Gesellschaft in einer grandiosen Art und Weise. Außerdem hat mich ziemlich beeindruckt, wie sich einige Charaktere in diesem Film verändern. Die Frau das Pfarrers entwickelt sich großartig und unglaublich schön ist Gabriellas Sång.
Daniel is a decent young man, married to Jane, still living at his father’s home. When his father dies, it is up to him to organize his funeral. On this painful morning, the suitable grave expression on his face, Daniel is ready to welcome his father’s friends and relatives. But preserving the dignity inherent in such circumstances will be a hard task. Particularly with an undertaker who botches his work, the return from the USA of his famous but selfish brother, his cousin’s fiancé who has accidentally ingested drugs, the presence a moron who takes advantage of the sad event to win back the heart (or rather the body) of a woman who is about to marry another, of a handicapped old uncle who is also the most unbearable pain in the neck. To cap it all, Daniel notices the presence among the mourners of a mysterious dwarf nobody else seems to know…
Kate and Charlie have a perfect life planned out before them: buying a house, marriage, kids, the whole works. Kate’s fear of flying keeps her in Canada while Charlie goes to Paris for a medical convention. While there Charlie is smitten by the lovely Juliette. He calls off the wedding with Kate and she nervously boards a plane to get him back. She ends up sitting next to the petty French thief Luc Teyssier. He hides a stolen necklace and smuggled grape vine in her bag to get it through customs. Her bag is stolen, the necklace apparently lost, and Kate and Luc head to Cannes — Luc to find the necklace and Kate get Charlie back. Along the way, Kate and Luc begin having feelings for each other — which change the course of their lives.
Gestern Nachmittag habe ich den Film geschaut; vorher irgendwann auch schon mal. Und der ist wirklich cool… Irgendwie finde ich Meg Ryan klasse.
The story, set in the fictional Rhode Island town of Eastwick in the late 1960s, follows the witches Alexandra Spofford, Jane Smart, and Sukie Rougemont, who acquired their powers after leaving or being left by their husbands. Their coven is upset by the arrival of a devil-like character, Darryl Van Horne. The mysterious Darryl seduces each of the women, encouraging them to play with their powers and creating a scandal in the town. The three women share Darryl in relative peace until he unexpectedly marries their young, innocent friend, Jenny, whom they resolve to have revenge on by giving her cancer through their magic. The witches doubt their judgment after Jenny’s death when Darryl flees town with her younger brother, Chris, apparently his lover. In his wake he leaves their relationships strained and their sense of self in doubt. Eventually they each summon their ideal men and leave town.
Grandios in diesem Film fand ich Cher. Habe die eigentlich als OP-süchtige Musikerin wahrgenommen; aber in diesem Film spielt sie toll und sieht wirklich toll aus!
Ist jetzt schon ne Weile her, das ich den Film gesehen habe; komme da aber heute drauf weil ich den für ne Freundin ausgeliehen habe: Snow Cake. Auf jeden Fall gucken, der Film ist ganz großartig! Geht im Großen und Ganzen um eine autistische Frau und ihren Kontakt zur Umwelt; sehr schön dargestellt!
